WAV ZINE ︎︎︎

ABOUT

WAV Zine was created during the summer of 2020 when a group of friends and peers wanted to create a space for music and art in the SLO community. Free from the limitations of university rules, five friends brought together a staff filled with talented and like minded individuals.

PROCESS

The process for creating .WAV Zine's brand identity incorporated market research of our demographic. Then, as a team, we established our mission, values, voice, and most importantly, what makes us unique.

Decisions on typography and color were highly influenced by youth music culture. Graphics I created showcased who WAV is, what WAV stand's for, and what WAV wanted to bring to the community.

NEW STORIES, NEW IDEAS

Spotlights are a series that we created in order to amplify the voices of artists, musicians, and creatives in San Luis Obispo. Monthly, we release a weeklong “Spotlight” which includes an interview, video, and giveaway of the creative.

From the beginning of .WAV we wanted our content to be printed and sold to the community. We currently have five published zines created within 2 years.

ART DIRECTION

As the creative director i oversee the work of our design and photo team who produce static and moving content.  I determined the overall style that communicated visually to our audience.
