Shabang is a music festival that unites and amplifies the Central Coast community through immersive live music and art experiences. My task was to rework the brand guidelines to create a fresh visual identity for Shabang 2023.

PROCESS


The process of creating the new brand guideline for Shabang weighed heavily on my communication with the head of marketing and creative director. Together, we came up with a strategy to communicate the energy of Shabang 2023.


When developing the campaign for 2024, we improved on legibility, brand identity, and our mission for the San Luis Obispo Community.

EXECUTION


Decisions on style, typography, and color were highly influenced by the local college scene. Shabang was born from a few friends with the idea to throw a concert on a mountain before they all graduated. For 2022, I wanted to capture the nostalgic feeling of being a college student.

In the following year, 2023 is all about establishing a clear identity for the fast growing festival.
